Running is hard work, and especially in these past few weeks when I’ve been trying to get myself ready for a race this Saturday. I went from sporadically running once a week to running three times a week in the past four weeks. Oh, the aching muscles.
Now that I’ve signed myself up for Sentrumsløpet, I’m forced to start running again. Oh, yeah. I feel the hurt coming on.
I might as well face it. I’m out of running shape. I’m hyperventilating just thinking about the interval training, hill training and sprints that I’ll have to do.
My lungs will reject the training. They will hurt. I’ll double over in pain trying to catch my breath. As a matter of fact, I won’t be able to catch my breath. I’ll see stars. I might keel over.
I already imagine that this little 10km run is much akin to climbing Mt. Everest. Gulp.
